During the summer of 2025 going into my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club of Burbank in Burbank, CA. While volunteering at their facility, I had primarily volunteered in the STEM department and the club's gym. In the STEM department, I would teach kids certain skills and would organize certain activities for kids to participate in during the day. In the gym, I would help coach kids during physical activity and would organize activities for them as well to keep them active during. However, I primarily focused on STEM department because that is where most of my skills applied to.
I am attending the NAF Engineering Academy working towards fufilling my dream of becoming an engineer. I have been in the academy for four years and have participated in four classes related to the engineering field. These classes were Engineering 1, Woodworking and Construction, AP Physics 1, and Engineering 2. All of these had taught me the basics of engineering as a whole and had also taught me how to correctly participate in a job interview with their "mock interviews." Not only did it help me academically, but it also helped me outside of school with the 80 hours of paid or unpaid internship. It helped me get an experience of what it is like in a work environment and helped me gain more relationships with people around the facility.
During my sophomore year of high school, I was looking to participate in a sport and that specific sport was baseball. I have played baseball since I was about four years old, so having past experience in the sport helped me get on the team. During my time on the team, I had primarily played first base, my main position that I have played since second grade. I had learned what it was like competing competitively for the school and I had made tons of friends during my time on the team. The team also helped me stay conditioned and helped me improve my skills in the sport that I have loved since my days as a small child.
