With more than 25 years dedicated to education, Anthony Johnson has built a career defined by creativity, leadership, and a commitment to helping young people discover their potential. His professional journey brings together the worlds of music, theatre, athletics, technical production, and student advocacy, creating an educational philosophy centered on developing the whole student.
After moving to Montana 14 years ago, Anthony continued his career in public education, serving the Sheridan School District as a K–12 Music and Drama Educator before joining Dillon School District #10. Beyond the classroom and stage, he expanded his impact through athletics, coaching middle school football and basketball and using competition, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance as additional opportunities for mentorship.
Anthony's extensive academic background reflects his lifelong belief that great educators must also remain lifelong learners. He earned a Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design and Technical Production from Utah State University and a Master of Arts in Theatre Production and Technology from Idaho State University. His musical training includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Idaho State University and a Master of Arts in Opera Performance and Conducting from Eastern Washington University.
Professionally, Anthony holds endorsements in K–12 Music Education and 5–12 Drama, qualifications that complement decades of experience working with students through music, theatre, performance, technical production, and extracurricular programs.
Now, after more than two decades of educating, directing, designing, coaching, and mentoring young people, Anthony is beginning the next chapter of his professional journey. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in School Counseling, expanding his ability to advocate for students not only as an educator, but also as a counselor dedicated to their academic achievement, personal development, social-emotional well-being, and future success.
Throughout his career, Anthony Johnson has remained guided by one enduring principle: education is about far more than what students learn—it is about helping them discover who they are, recognize what they are capable of becoming, and giving them the confidence to pursue it.
