Household Investment in Renewable Energy: The Interplay of Motivations, Incentives, and Barriers in the Green Transition - Evidence from France
MSc. Thesis, September 2025
This thesis investigates how French households decide to invest in renewable energy and insulation upgrades. Using Latent Class Analysis (LCA) and a Conditional Mixed Process (CMP), the analysis uncovers three profiles (Against, Shared, and Pro) that reveal how economic, technical, and environmental motivations interact. The findings support the development of policy designs that are bundled and tailored to diverse household incentives.
