I am Ansovielo Christopher SOMDA, a Ph.D. Candidate in Energy Economics at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (IREGE laboratory), funded by ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition) and the Solar Academy graduate school.
My research lies at the intersection of Energy Economics, Behavioral Economics, and Applied Microeconometrics. Specifically, I focus on household energy demand, behavioral incentives for green investments, and flexibility mechanisms to support the energy transition.
I hold an M.Sc. in Development Economics (English Track) with High Honors from the School of Economics, University of Clermont Auvergne (CERDI). My research on household renewable energy investments was awarded the Best Master's Thesis Prize by the French Association of Energy Economists (F-AEE). In June 2026, I received the Gold Prize of the African Student Excellence Award (Prix d'Excellence de l'Étudiant Africain, PEEA).
Beyond academic research, I have experience working as an Environment Policy Analyst Intern at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna, and as a Research Assistant within the FlexTASE project (IREGE/GAEL research laboratories).
