I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at UC Santa Barbara. I study the political economy of armed conflict, specifically how rebel groups use different revenue sources to finance rebellion and how they govern through institutions. In a secondary research agenda, I study the politics of finance and voting at the UN General Assembly.
My academic journey began as a D1 student-athlete at Virginia Tech, where I received a full athletic scholarship to compete in the hammer throw, a discipline in track and field. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outside, playing volleyball at the beach, swimming, or biking. When not outside, I love to bake sourdough or sketch with ink or graphite.
