Kids love predictability, and honestly, so do I! Once my babies are bigger, I will have a visual schedule posted in our home so they know what to predict next, and can keep track themselves. I took this idea from teaching in the classroom, because those kids always wanted to know what was going on! I don't add times to the schedule unless there's a time-sensitive event, and I keep a digital or analog clock close by the schedule to help them associate the schedule with time. I do have to set the schedule up the night before, so its ready for the morning, but it's worth it!
A schedule also lends itself to flexibility, because if the morning or afternoon is different, the kids know what's going on; plus they have something to look forward to!
