My Top Learning Theory: Constructivism
-Learners construct new knowledge as they observe and interact with their environment
-Frequent interactions and opportunities to experiment, try new approaches, organize concepts, and make personal meanings
-Students take a more active role in their learning as they construct one's own knowledge and develop new and different skills
I believe that constructivism best aligns with the 21st century education because it allows students to be more active in their learning process. With things like technology, students thrive best when they are taking an active part in something that they already know well. Constructivism is also present in all areas of life, like the workforce and the news. Constructivism also has an emphasis on social interaction, whether it be with group discussions or interactions with their peers. Constructivism also uses the building blocks of old knowldge and apply new knowledge that the students have gained in order to construct new meanings and ideas.
