“When we work within the limits of our medium, we are forced to change our own limits. Improvisation does not mean breaking forms and limits just to be "free", but to use them as a means of transcending ourselves.
< Stephen Nachmanovitch - The power of Improvisation>
In these masterclasses, we focus on cultivating a more conscious, healthy, curious, fertile, and joyful relationship between the self, the world and art. Designed specifically for educational, artistic and cultural environments , this work centers on the development of our unique creative qualities, our deeply important ability to play, and our effective, collaborative presence within a group.
Here, participants engage with all kinds of arts in an open, playful way, grounded in a deeply structured and intentional framework. This work is as educative and transformative as it is inspiring and profoundly artistic. The places and contexts where this work can thrive are limitless, and its constructive power is immense.
Objectives
The objectives of this work are both personal and artistic — two human dimensions that often merge, and whose cultivation inevitably follows a shared path.
To ground this shared journey, our focus is channeled into three interconnected dimensions:
Educational: Focusing on the development of emotional and synthetic intelligence, self-tuning, and the foundational dynamics of co-existence.
Artistic: Focusing on the dialogue with diverse art forms, creative risk-taking, and the manifestation of imagination.
Cultural: Focusing on how this inner cultivation ripples outward into community, remembering art as the very foundation of everyday life, collective presence, and shared ritual.
The Journey of the Practice
This work invites us to plunge into a process where we :
Listen to the wisdom of the body, learning to honor it as the ultimate bridge between our inner world and the surrounding environment - refine and cultivate our relation to it as it is the medium through which all information passes, allowing for a deeply anchored, total presence.
Explore MOVEMENT as the always present force behind all life.
Develop artistic instinct and skill.
Come into contact with the artistic manifestations and literary works of the world - from the ancient times until today - and interact with them from our current personal and cultural position.
Develop deep observation skills.
Cultivate emotional, perceptive and narrative intelligence
Relieve confusion, stress or other demanding states of mind and emotion, through their fertile interaction with the creative process.
Which actually means:
Learn to develop a creative dialogue with internal and external "limitations". Discover how these are the opportunities that make us artists. The touchstones of miracles.
Come into contact with our inner life while connecting with the life that surrounds us, through a gradually more "tuned" instrument.
Learn to navigate the shades between expression as a raw act and the cultivation of expressivity as refined and deeply rich and effective skill.
Learn to introduce our unique versions within a group of intrinsically different people, while also evolving and allow ourselves to be "sculpted" through that shared experience while simultaneously learning the art of navigating boundaries.
Learn to cooperate with others with contentment, rather than with a feeling of confinement.
Discover our unique abilities, strengths and talents.
Learn how "mistake" IS art.
Which leads us to:
Challenge our limiting belief systems.
Cultivate imagination and creativity not as a way of destruction and escapism but as a vital skill rooted in synthetic intelligence.
Learn that it's not impossible or extraordinary, but rather natural to feel confident and happy in our own special skin and move through the world with ease.
Learn to feel comfortable, both as children and adults in the deeply elevated process of playing and witness how playing, is the foundation of experimentation, of invention and innovation. The central force in unlocking creation .
IN ESSENCE,
This is a process through which we learn how to work with arts - writing considered one of the finest among them - in order to access fundamental wisdom of existence across all relational, physical, and personal dimensions; while simultaneously offering to them and to life our tuned perception and ability; just like a refined instrument offers to music, music itself. Meaning, we don't just use art for our expressive or intellectual needs - we are giving back to it and eventually... we are becoming it.
