Laser Hair Removal {or LHR} is a form of permanent to semi-permanent hair removal. This treatment works by utilizing a laser that targets pigment to blast and destroy unwanted hair follicles. This treatment is considered permanent, however, any major hormonal shifts (ex. pregnancy or menopause) cause a risk of new hair growth.
Clients should expect to need a minimum of 12 LHR treatments for best results. LHR treatments can be placed as close as every 4 weeks. Clients should avoid tanning, sunburns, exfoliating treatments (including shaving) for 2 weeks prior to their laser hair removal treatment, and for 4 weeks after their laser hair removal treatment. This is because laser treatments create temporary photo-sensitivity in the skin, making clients more prone to sunburns and irritation.
Some clients with darker skin tones may not be a candidate for laser due to risk of hypopigmenation (white spots).
