Accelerated Math Teacher
In 2015 I was given the opportunity to pilot a 7th grade honors math course for 6th grade students at three locations in Huntsville City Schools. Utilizing differentiation, I taught rigorous, standard-aligned lessons to high-performing students. To boost the fun, I planned and lead field trips that enhanced student understanding of mathematical concepts through engaging simulations and hands-on experiences. Student progress was monitored using both formative and summative assessments. My students consistently earned top scores in the district and I was able to support colleagues as a member of the Problem Solving Team.
My independent tutoring business first took off in the Rocket City of Huntsville, AL when several families called at the recommendation of classroom teachers, asking for elementary and middle school math assistance in 2016. At the time, I was a teacher in the community and thoroughly enjoyed instilling a love for learning in 500+ students over the years. Knowing that working one-on-one would prove beneficial for students, I agreed to begin tutoring for several families. Today I continue tutoring K-8 students in Washington State.
