There was a bear sighting near the power lines at the beginning of our road near Newboro on June 11, 2024.Β A mother and 2 cubs.Β Please be vigilant if you go for a walk.
Among other personal accessories, please consider bringing to the cottage:
Foods, drinks, water bottle for cooking.
Personal flotation devices.
Personal linens, blankets, pillows, mattress covers (double, single).

Please drive slowly in the narrow private road (Carleton street) to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.
At all times, please ensure the safety for children and other guests, especially near the water.Β
Tap water at the cottage is from a drilled well, with bacteriological analysis done yearly. Bottled water could be brought in for drinking. The 5-gallon water bottle is perfect to use with the water cooler at the cottage.
Before departure, please make sure to clean the cottage as good as how you find it, including appliances, outdoor equipment (BBQ, furniture). Remove all food items from the fridge. Turn off all unused appliances (fan, lights, A/C...)
Garbage and recycles have to be handled in the following way to get picked up by the township:
Garbage to be put in the provided white clear plastic bag, attached with the provided garbage purple tag (for township service). One tag per bag, maximum 3 garbage bags per week (up to 40 lbs per bag). Make sure to use animal-proof garbage container during the stay.
Recycles to be sorted in green recycle containers and put in the provided blue clear plastic bag, no tag needed (for township service). Recycles are picked up in alternate week fashion (one week for paper, the other week for plastic and metal). Schedule is posted on site.
Garbage bags and tags are located in the cabinet below the kitchen sink.
At the end of your week (e.g Saturday), garbage and recycles bags to be put inside the wooden container near the entrance gateΒ (make sure to latch the top down to prevent wild animals). Township picks them up Tuesday mornings.
Β Canoe, kayak, paddle boat should be tied up carefully to the dock, and brought back to ground at the end of your week. Nothing should be left unattended on the dock that strong wind can blow away.
Please keep the furniture indoor and out clean to avoid extra charge for cleaning up or replacement.
Every two weeks, there may be maintenance person(s) coming over to mow and trim the grass for the property, most likely in the weekend afternoons.
The "Private property" sign, and the security cameras (located at the entrance gate and the shoreline) are year-round protection measures for the occupants and the property.Β
Overcrowding the property (with unauthorized/visiting guests, vehicles or pets) will result in termination of the rental period, forfeiting any refunds or the deposits...Β
