Cyberbullying in adults is not at all uncommon. It has already been proven that 1 in 5 cyberbullying victims are adults over 45 years old. ore than one-third of its respondents made changes when it comes to their online activity because of cyberbullying. More than one-quarter (¼) were victims of severe online harassment. 15% of its adult participants have experienced online harassment.
Furthermore, in our country, adult cyberbullying is undoubtedly one of the most prominent social issues in our society nowadays. One example would be the 2022 Philippine Presidential Elections wherein the Uniteam supporters, and the Kakampinks began an online war on different social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
It is very heartbreaking that cyberbullying is very rampant nowadays. Its several negative effects on its victims, both adults, and children are very alarming. Because of online harassment, others experience multitude of mental health issues and in severe cases even suicidal thoughts. Unfortunately, adult cyberbullying is very difficult to find a solution to because of a ton of different factors such as the anonymity of users online and the vast places it can happen.
