Deepak did his PhD at IIT Madras exploring the triaxial loading of a granular system using DEM simulations. He is currently working on the micromechanics of defects and interfaces in granular systems using a mix of theoretical and numerical tools. We want to develop an understanding of granular plasticity observed at a macroscopic scale based on these microscopic objects.
Gaurub did his PhD at IIST exploring Eringen's model of non local elasticity. He is currently working on developing a better understanding of these non local theories and how they relate to gradient theories. We are interested in exploring the screening and regularizing effect of non local theories of differnt kinds.

Akhilesh is currently an Assistant Professor at R.V university, Bengaluru. In our group, Akhilesh briefly worked on Kirigami mechanics, both from a theoretical and experimental standpoint. He has done his PhD in Physics from University of Mysore. Before joining our group, Akhilesh worked with Prof. Omri Gat at the Racah Institute on problems in non linear Physics.
PhD
Saptarshi Paul (Coadvising, Primary advisor: Prof. Anurag Gupta)
Saptarshi is working on the problem of defects in elastic shells. He is exploring the role of geometry and topology of a thin sheet in the mechanics of the defects. Saptarshi obtained his BT/MT dual degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur.
