You can rent a bike though Velib. Paris is unfortunately not yet very bike-friendly so watch out!
To travel by bus/metro/RER/tramway within Paris: choose the ticket T+ at the ticket machine (1.90 €/ticket). This ticket allows the following transfers: metro to metro (2 hours, without leaving the metro), metro to RER (2 hours), RER to RER (90 min), bus to bus (90 min), bus to tram (90 min) and tram to tram (90 min). For any other transfer type or if you leave the metro, you will have to buy another T+.
You have a discount if you buy 10 tickets (14.90€, or 1.49€/ticket). Note: you can buy the Passe Navigo Easy card at any RATP agency (at the entrance of most of subway stations) to upload your tickets, if you want to avoid the paper version.
You can also buy a Mobilis ticket that allows unlimited travel for a day, within Paris (7.5 euros) or in Ile-de-France region (from 10 to 17.80 euros).
If you are planning to travel outside Paris (e.g., Versailles palace, Disneyland), you can use the railway system (RER). For this, you need to buy an Ile-de-France ticket (price depending on your destination) at the ticket machine. You can also buy a Paris Visite travel pass that allows you to travel everywhere in the Ile-de-France region for 1, 2, 3 or 5 days (respectively 12, 19.5, 26.65 or 38.35 €) and offers discounts in some Parisian attractions.
Airports are well served by public transportations (bus, tram, subway and RER). Depending on your airport, you may have to use specific tickets. More information here.

Accommodation in Paris is expensive, so make sure that you book a room in advance. You can book a hotel room through online booking services such as Booking or Ebooking, or AirBnB, where one can find good standard accommodations to an affordable price.
Thanks to the transportation system, travelling is relatively easy in Paris. You can check on Google Maps whether your accommodation is close to the venue or easily accessible.
In order to fit most diet requirements (and to limit the ecological impact of the event), the coffee breaks and the poster session cocktail are vegan and free of refined sugar. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available for the catered lunch (Tuesday).
The Teaching Exchange (including the social events) is completely accessible to wheelchair users. Due to its old age, the public transportation in Paris is unfortunately not very wheelchair-friendly: please visit https://www.vianavigo.com/en/accessibility to check for the most convenient itinerary. Itineraries suggested to travel between teaching venues here are accessible to wheelchair users.
