A Night with Bill is an evening of Shakespeare's greatest moments brought together in one performance.
Rather than presenting a single play, the production features carefully selected scenes from some of Shakespeare's most beloved works, including:
A Midsummer Night's Dream
Hamlet
Macbeth
Much Ado About Nothing
Romeo and Juliet
The Taming of the Shrew
Throughout the evening, Puck, Shakespeare's mischievous fairy from A Midsummer Night's Dream, serves as our guide. Opening the performance, introducing the audience to the world of Shakespeare, and returning throughout the evening, Puck leads us from comedy to tragedy, from romance to revenge, weaving each scene into one theatrical journey before bringing the night to a close.
Our production embraces a simple philosophy: let Shakespeare's words do the work. With minimal scenery and a focus on truthful storytelling, each scene allows the language, relationships, and emotions to take center stage. Whether you are discovering Shakespeare for the first time or revisiting familiar favorites, A Night with Bill invites you to experience these timeless stories in a fresh, engaging, and accessible way.
Audition Tips:
Choose a monologue you understand and feel comfortable performing.
Focus on telling the story rather than trying to use a "Shakespearean" voice.
Make clear character choices and commit to them.
Take your time and speak clearly.
Rehearse before you show up, even if it’s just in a bathroom mirror.
Arrive on time! Coming to your audition 5-10 minutes early allows you to get into the mind set and focus on what you're about to do!
For the cold read, listen and respond to your scene partner. We want to see how you work together.
Be mindful of other people auditioning. Keep the noise to a minimum in the waiting area and stay supportive to your fellow actors. Getting to know your fellow actors might help with cold reads!
Most importantly, have fun and make bold choices!
