Some 4,000 years ago, a princess of Kuntibhoja had discarded her illegitimate newborn in the fateful waters of the Ganges. She was ŚrīKṛṣṇa’s own aunt. The Goddess of the River rowed the child to his glorious yet tragic destiny. Her subconscious hope that her child may grow up healthy and accomplished, was extinguished by ŚrīKṛṣṇa, Who faced him as an enemy’s charioteer; yet in His own way reserved for him the best man’s award in the whole decisive battle of Kurukṣētra.
