About Me

Academic Decathlon

President (2020-21)

Academic Decathalon values teamwork and countless hours of dedication in preparation for competition in January. Ever since participating in this club I have become a well rounded student. This is largely due to the wide variety of subjects to prepare for. These include the objective tests in Art, Mathematics, Literature, Social Science, Science, Economics, and Music and the subjective events Interview, Speech, and Essay.

Art Club

President (2019-Present)

Every other Tuesday we meet to learn new art techniques such as perspective, still lifes, shading, texture, optical illusions, etc.

Being a part of this club has allowed me to meet many new people who make me look forward to holding meetings, and inspire me to create more artwork. It is a place where I get to pursue one of my passions making it all the more enjoyable.

BHS Tennis Team

2019-2020

Being on the tennis team opened the doors for me to an environment that I have never experienced before. It pushed me out of my comfort zone while giving me access to making valuable memories and lessons. I learned how to better work with others, and improved my technique from watching others play.

LA County Election Worker

2020 General Election

As a check in clerk in my voting precint I held the following responsibilities:

  • check voters in

  • register voters

  • help voters fill in change of adress forms

  • sanitize after each voter

  • direct voters to ballot marking devices (voting booths)

  • operate the electronic pollbook properly

  • punctuality and attentitiveness for long work days

I enjoyed helping run the voting precinct, assisting voters through the process, and witnessed the democratic process take place in front of my eyes. It was interesting to learn a new perspective on the process through this experience.

Kumon Teacher Assistant

2021-Present

At Kumon I am in charge of working with students in our youngest category, in a program called early learners, to assist them in learning the fundamentals of math and reading. I also am in charge of grading papers, recording their scores, and maintaining organization at my station. I have learned how to better communicate my ideas/thoughts to different people, and how to present myself in a professional setting.

Portraits of Kindness

2019-Present

With Portraits of Kindness the objective is to give portraits to children across the globe who are facing difficult times as means of support for them. This experience made me recognize the impact I can have on someone else's life through the simple act of creating a portrait for them.
