About Me

Family

I am married to Somdeepa Das, who is an Economics PhD student at Purdue University. My parents are enjoying retirement back home in Kolkata, India, and my elder brother and his wife live in Germany.

Fun fact: All six adult members of my immediate family share the same alma mater.

Running

I am an amateur distance runner. I am training for my first half-marathon in October 2026. While the academic profession rewards low discount rates and delayed gratification, a running habit complements it nicely by providing an immediate runner's high every morning.

Fun

I almost exclusively listen to Bengali music, from my home state of West Bengal as well as from across the border in Bangladesh. My favorite artists of all time include Arnob and Moheener Ghoraguli. I sporadically read historical fiction in Bengali.

I consider myself a Parks and Recreation nerd. Pawnee is not that far from Bloomington!
