This project looks at how social media affects society and shapes the way people think, act, and see themselves. It covers both the good and the bad, while also sharing my personal experiences in the digital age.
After taking the “AM I ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA?” QUIZ, I realized that i am way too addicted to social media and I need to really work on it. The results stated,
You NEED to get a grip on your social media habits! Scrolling through social media is your number one past time - you're never off the .gram, or TikTok, or Twitter or... (insert your favourite platform here). You spend an excessive amount of your day on social media, feeling that if something isn't recorded and posted on one of your accounts it didn't really happen. Sleep, eating, work, even your relationships, are all suffering as a result. Did you know that, in a famous study from Denmark, adults who spent a week off social media felt much happier with their lives? They also reported an increase in real-world social activity and were significantly less angry and lonely than those who stayed on social media. It's time to take your social media addiction seriously and embark on a digital detox.
I feel like the results of my survey is so right, i feel like my biggest issue is being on social media while attending family events, school, or even work. Everywhere I go i always have to open and use social media, really thinking about it, I really need to get used to the fact that I wont be able to use my phone in bootcamp for 3 months so either I get this habit over with orrrrrrr.... WHO KNOWS!
I think that social media has token a huge toll on our generation. Everywhere we go, there's always going to be social media, it's a place that people around the world connect with each others or just simply share information. Although social media can also have its disadvantages such as cyberbullying which could cause people to do unimaginable actions not only towards themselves but to others as well. But looking at the bright side, social media is a place to express yourself, such as editing your instagram profile, making tiktoks, or even "X" posts so others could watch. Unfortunately its gotten out of hand and its become an addiction not only towards myself but many other people around the world.
This article overall made me really surprise on how many people use social media on a basis. Though many claim social media is a plague and has a negative impact on personal and the general population I find it interesting that so many still use it, many people taking this survey probably still have many social media accounts. I am also one of those people that still continues to have hundreds of social media accounts. Which basically reflects how addicted I am. Unfortunately.

Social media has become nearly unavoidable for young people today (including myself). Even though 64% of Americans believe it has a mostly negative impact on the direction of the country, meaningful change remains limited. There’s a clear gap between awareness and action people recognize the problem, but accountability, enforcement, and effective solutions are still lacking. As a society, we need to pause, take this seriously, and commit to implementing healthier, more responsible practices moving forward.
