Angel Rafael Vázquez Figueroa was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 20, 1989. From a young age he started showing interest in the arts from studying music to participating in theater and later joining different national choirs of the island. He went to pursue his education in the arts at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico where he specialized in sculpture and completed a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts (2017). Most recently (2022), Vázquez opened his own workshop art studio in his home town of "Levittown" Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. He strives to continue exploring ways that combine his passions to create new works of art. Vázquez has applied his experience in music to make varied works ranging from interactive pieces to using the sound of the environment. Even though ceramic predominates as his preferred medium, Vázquez has utilized a plethora of different materials like wood, stone, paper, cardboard, recycled material, found objects and even applying performative elements.
