Star Altar Reiki is an energy healing modality based on the teachings of Grandmaster Mikao Usui and Grandmaster Takata of Hawaii/Japan, Tibetan Reiki, and the teachings of the Anpao Wicahpi Wicohan (Way of the Morningstar/Way of Blue Hand), which stem from the Maka Wicahpi Wicohan.
Maka Wicahpi Wicohan means "Earth Star Way" in the Lakota/Dakota language or "Star Knowledge." Through years of prayer and ceremony, with a group of Spiritual Teachers, Chief Golden Light Eagle brought forth interpretations of the Star Laws and asked that this information be shared. Chief was one of the “Original Code Carriers” of Turtle Island (North America), a member of the Dakota Ihunktowan Band of South Dakota, and one of the 7 Sundance Chiefs of the Yankton Sioux Sungdeska Sapa Tiospaye.
The term Reiki comes from the Japanese words “rei” (universal) and “ki” (life energy). Reiki is increasingly used as a complementary therapy to reduce pain, anxiety, and stress, and improve sleep and healing. Reiki is not a replacement for medical care or diagnosis, but it can be used alongside it as a complementary treatment.

Reiki training helped me better understand the energy body and how to call upon universal life force energy to help clear imbalances on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. Reiki may be integrated with other healing techniques such as light language.
