While herbalism focuses on the physical and chemical properties of plants for bodily health (teas, tinctures, topical applications), spiritual herbalism deepens this by viewing plants as conscious beings, working with their subtle energies, and incorporating rituals for holistic mind-body-spirit healing, viewing plants as relatives, not just remedies. Traditional herbalism uses science, while spiritual herbalism adds relationship, intuition, and spiritual connection, viewing physical, mental, and spiritual healing as interconnected.
In today's world, many of us have lost our connection to the plant kingdom. When we rush through a fast food line, eat while watching a screen, or rely on processed food, we create imbalances in our mind, body, and spirit that can lead to poor mental and physical health.
Reconnecting to the spiritual essence of plants helps us regain our ability to to intuitively work with plants that will heal, nurture, and sustain our wellbeing. We can do this through the sensual experience of slowing down to enjoy the sight, smell, and taste of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We can also experience plants more subtly via bottled plant essences or communicating with plants themselves through plant mediumship.
Plant mediumship, or plant spirit communication, is the practice of connecting with the consciousness or spirit of plants to receive wisdom, healing, and guidance, often through intuition, meditation, or shamanic techniques. Practitioners use intuition and/or tools to interpret messages, learn about a plant's properties, and foster deeper relationships with the natural world.

At times, plant spirits may come through during intuitive or healing sessions, offering symbolic or energetic messages. When this happens, clients are always encouraged to decide how, or whether, they wish to work with that information. I do not provide medical advice or herbal prescriptions, but I can refer clients to a certified or clinical herbalist for hands-on work with plant material, or point clients toward reputable resources for learning about plant essences and flower remedies.
