Does the wedding dress need to be new, clean, or in perfect condition?
*any condition accepted
*we will wash and take apart for fabric/embellishments
*no dress is too old to be used
Do you accept veils or accessories?
*veils and accessories also accepted, but may be sold to raise funds for sewing materials, or used in actual Angel Gown production.
Where can I donate?
*wedding dress donations are currently not being accepted but please reach out to donate or help in other ways
When will my dress be used?
*please know that this process can take several years - which is a BLESSING! Donated dresses are labeled, tracked, and stored safely in my home until needed. I work to use them in the order of donations as much as possible. The dress is then removed from storage, cleaned, and disassembled for material. The material is then transported to one of our amazing seamstresses to be sewn into various Angel Gown sizes. Those gowns are then picked up and delivered to locations or individuals in need. We work to have dozens of Angel Gowns on hand at all times so that grieving mothers are able to choose this precious gift for their child.
Do I need to contact you before making a donation?
*No, but you are always welcome to email me at satx.angelgowns@gmail.com if you have additional questions. However, please note that gown donations are currently on hold.
I don't have a wedding dress, but I want to help!
*Please see the HOW TO HELP tab for more information on other needs including sewing and financial. We also need more locations to deliver Angel Gowns! Please let me know if you have time to make delivery arrangements with hospitals or midwives - consider even small towns outside of San Antonio! You will need to call to determine if they will accept donations, then ask how many and which sizes they typically need - pick up gowns from me and then deliver! Message me if you are able to do this!
Where have you donated Angel Gowns so far?
*The majority of our donations go directly to individuals through private contacts
*The BirthPlace at Southwest General Hospital
*University Hospital NICU
*Puente Funeral Home
