In Warhaven, we introduced Relic & Special Equipments as means of leveraging the gameplay space by further adding strategic depth. Activated at different times and locations, relics include various forms of event triggers and abilities that create constant flow of player movement and combat encounters.
Activated at different time and location, relics constantly create spontaneous battles and traffic inside the battlefield. Relics will often make their appearance in the most important moments of the overall session narrative, each with special ability that affects the combat either directly or indirectly.
Special equipments were placed differently in each map and mode, considering their unique landscape and characteristics. The goal was to bring out the most competitive combat experience.
Instantly captures and locks footholds for a period of time.
A moving weapon that deals damage over a wide area from a distance. Both aiming and driving operated by a single player.
Deals damage inside the foothold area. Can also reactivate footholds locked by the Ice Stone.
A mountable weapon that fires bolts from a distance. Mounts single player.
Temporary spawn point active for limited number of respawns.
Launches players into the air, allowing them to travel long distances faster.
Acts as an additional squad member. Can be used for squad respawns and capturing foothold.
Flying machines can be deployed when jumping off the high grounds. Only available in certain maps with suitable landscape.
Used to exit the battlefield for instant regroup and deploy. Once used, player is guided to the map screen where they can choose a new spawn location.
An obstacle that disrupts enemy movement and access.
