Our group benefits from low ratios of children. With a maximum of four children in my care at any one time, we are able to go out and about and use community resources for learning opportunities. As a small group, I am able to focus on individual interests and extend each child's learning with plenty of one-on-one time. In-home childcare follows the same curriculum as other preschool care, such as centre-based care and kindergarten, and is suitable for your over-2-year-old as well as under-2s.
Transforming Everyday Moments into Intentional Teaching Opportunities.
This was from when I was located in Wellington with Tiny Nation, take a look at their article on my service, here.
We enjoy regular outings with our Tiny Nation community, our local preschool music group, nearby Willowbank, local parks and playgrounds and the library. I look for new and interesting ways that the outings, activities and natural resources that we have available around us can be used to introduce new or extend current play interests of each child I have in care.
