Summary
The thesis analyses the use and occurrence of anecdote in philosophical content. The first chapter starts with the analysis of various definitions of anecdote and separation of common elements. As a result the unified definition of anecdote used in the following part of the thesis is recieved. Next, some examples of use of the anecdote in philosophy are presented and discussed. In the second chapter Diogenes of Sinope and the specificity of the sources of information about him is established. The third chapter is an analysis of Diogenes' beliefs in the terms of it's synergy with the anecdotal transmission, that concludes with the formulation of the definition of philosophical anecdote.
