This is my meeting with Pastor Sam (The co founder of AGWO). AGWO stands for Alliance of Guest Workers Outreach. Pastor Sam was extremely helpful and he plays a big Part in my whole project. Without him, I wouldn't be able to help the migrant workers. I told Pastor Sam my idea of teaching Migrant Workers how to paint as it helps to relax the mind and anxiety goes away. He made a few adjustments here and there and the plan for teaching migrant workers art was finalised. Instead of painting on a canvas, I will teach painting on a tote bag. Below is my pitch deck which I had shown to Pastor Sam.
This is me talking to Theersha about where I can teach Migrant Workers Painting. I also discussed with my project just so that he is clear. I also had a few questions for him.
These are the questions:
What are their interests in art?
Have they done art before?
What would they like to draw?
Would they like an art studio?
Where will I be teaching?
What time should I come for teaching?
How long should the session be?
Will there be a language barrier?
This is the second floor of Kranji Recreational Centre. I met Theersha over here. I had gotten a tour of Kranji Recreational Centre to see where the best place would be to teach painting. This was one of my options as it had decent lighting and shade above.
I had some questions for the Migrant workers too! I asked them simple questions on where theyre from, if they can understand english. I asked them when was the last time they did art? I asked if they were intrested in doing art? They arent that good at english, but they are learning and arent bad for begginers. They can understand the basics. They said that the last time they did art was in school back in their home country. Some of them said they dont have time for art. Some said they would definetly love to so that they can teach their children how to do also.
