Getting to Cantabs

Cantabrigian RC Boathouse, Pepys Court, CB4 1GF

If you are not familiar with the route to the Cantabs Boathouse, please pay attention to these instructions as the route is not obvious!

Access is via Pepys Court only; there is no access from Lynfield Lane.

To reach the boathouse from St Andrew’s Road: turn into the housing estate (Scholar’s Walk). Go straight on until you have to turn right, then take the next left (still Scholar’s Walk). Take the first right (Pepys Court), and then turn left through a parking area. Turn right onto a narrow track with zig-zag paving, then follow the path as it turns left to cross a ditch. Finally turn right onto a non-paved track, from where the boathouse is in front of you (route shown on map below).

To reach the boathouse from Church Street (~250m, pedestrians and cyclists only): turn between the bollards into the housing estate (Scholar’s Walk) and follow Scholar's walk round to the left. Take the first right (Pepys Court), and then turn left through a parking area. Turn right onto single-lane track with zig-zag paving, then follow the path as it turns left to cross a ditch. Finally turn right onto a non-paved track, from where the boathouse is in front of you (route shown on map below).

Accessibility

There is step-free access to the Cantabs Boathouse from St Andrews Road, although there is a small stretch of zig-zag paving which can be a little uncomfortable for wheelchair access, and a short section of unpaved track which is fairly flat but not completely smooth. Once at the boathouse, there is a wooden walkway which provides easy access around the boathouse.

There is a key-operated platform lift to the first floor where there is a wheelchair-accessible toilet. The key-safe to the left of the lift should be left open during the event.
