I took a lead role in designing and facilitating one of the inaugural virtual workshops aimed at supporting students during finals. Working collaboratively with my Peer Leader team, we developed a comprehensive program that addressed critical topics, including effective study techniques and strategies for engaging with professors for academic assistance. The workshop was well-received, with participants providing valuable feedback that I leveraged to evaluate academic engagement and identify areas for enhancement. This experience underscores my ability to drive student success through strategic planning, impactful programming, and data-informed decision-making.
As a Peer Fellow at Hunter College, I created a detailed presentation highlighting the various departments, programs, and resources available to students, while proudly showcasing the Peer Mentors Leadership Team's contributions to student success. Over the summer, I mentored and onboarded a cohort of 10 new Peer Leaders, working closely with the program supervisor and key stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition. I played a key role in facilitating the onboarding day, guiding new team members through their roles, introducing essential resources, and fostering collaboration through interactive activities. This initiative demonstrated my ability to bridge communication, provide mentorship, and support the development of an informed and connected campus community.
I spearheaded a project to design and implement an informative bulletin board in the Student Center, Room 417W. As part of this initiative, I coordinated with Peer Leaders, assigning each to create two slides highlighting key aspects of Hunter College, including academic advising, financial aid, and other essential student resources. The completed bulletin board, now prominently displayed, serves as a valuable and accessible resource for the student community.
