András Cser DSc
professor of linguistics
I am a professor of linguistics at PPCU with a focus on phonology, diachronic linguistics, morphology and the history of linguistics. The languages I work on most of the time are Hungarian, Latin and English. I graduated in English, Latin and Theoretical Linguistics at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest; I also did my PhD there in historical phonology. With my work on Latin phonology I earned the DSc title, i.e., Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Research
At present I work on the historical phonology of Hungarian with a research group at the HUN-REN Research Centre for Linguistics, but I also work(ed) on the phonology and morphology of Latin as well as on the history of linguistics. The list of my publications (see link above) gives a fuller picture of what I have been doing, and my most recent presentations are available here.
