The purpose of the Space Grant was to create a device which would be able to transverse simulated martian terrain through multiple courses at Great Sand Dunes National Park. Our team went with a new design based of of the Boston Labs Rough Rhex robot. We modeled this in both Creo and Solidworks and 3d printed the majority of the device.
While we were unsuccessful in having a working model by challenge day, I learned valuable lessons about project management, accountability and team work to accomplish goals and meet deadlines. I do not view this as a failure as much as I do a learning opportunity and chance to apply what I have learned to future projects and assignments.
