Andrés Castañeda Ruiz Esparza [Aguascalientes, México 2003]

es un artista audiovisual, cineasta y músico. Lic. en Artes Cinematográficas y Audiovisuales.

Defiende la universalidad de lo personal en el cortometraje, videodiario, el videoarte, la instalación artística, fotografía y música. Hace uso de la imagen autodocumental como una búsqueda íntima que reflexiona sobre el cotidiano y el oficio del artista.

Escribe y dirige el cortometraje de ficción PATTI (2024) y el cortometraje híbrido/experimental PIEZA (o Siluetas de Ausencia) (2024), reconocido como Mejor Cortometraje Experimental en el Festival de Cine Joven de Guadalajara No Somos de Cristal y en el Festival de Cortometraje Universitario 2025. Dirige el cortometraje de ficción Mar y Cielo (2026) y el cortometraje documental Mis recuerdos se Agotaron: Las Memorias de Don Heliodoro (2026).

Explora las posibilidades de la caméra-stylo y la huella tangible del cineasta en STYLO (2024), exposición de instalación y videoarte en el Centro de Artes Visuales del Instituto Cultural de Aguascalientes. Entre 2023 y 2024 publica la serie de videodiario Reporte Semanal, obteniendo 3mil suscriptores en YouTube.

is an audiovisual artist, filmmaker, and musician. B.A. in Film and Audiovisual Arts.

His work advocates for the universality of the personal through short films, video diaries, video art, art installation, photography, and music. He utilizes the self-documentary image as an intimate search that reflects on everyday life and the craft of the artist.

He wrote and directed the fiction short film PATTI (2024) and the hybrid/experimental short film PIEZA (or Silhouettes of Absence) (2024), awarded Best Experimental Short Film at the Festival de Cine Joven de Guadalajara No Somos de Cristal and the Festival de Cortometraje Universitario. Wirtes and directs the short film Mar y Cielo (2026) and the documentary short film My Memories are Through: The Memoirs of Don Heliodoro (2026).

He explores the possibilities of the caméra-stylo and the filmmaker’s tangible trace in STYLO (2024), an installation and video art exhibition at the Centro de Artes Visuales of the Instituo Cultural de Aguascalientes. In 2023 and 2024, he plublished the video diary series Reporte Semanal, garnering over 3k subscribers on YouTube.
