André Averion is a mixed Filipino American (Fil-Am), award-winning journalist, and mental health proffesional based in the Dallas Fort-Worth metroplex in Texas, with a long history of communication and community development.
Averion currently serves as the Communication Department Chair at the nonprofit Pilipino American Community Endeavor, where he developed the most comprehensive and used Filipino Directory in North Texas, started the DFW Bayanihan Press as the only North Texas publication focusing on local Filipino stories, and leads the communications that directly connect over 5,000 leaders and profffesionals. He is currently working to develop Lone Star Palangke 2026, which for the last four years has been the largest Filipino market in North Texas.
In addition, he serves pedatrics in need as a Behavrioal / Eating Disorder technician in ACT, DBT, and CBT related therapy since 2024 at the Center for Discovery.
Previously Averion is celebrated at the University of Texas at Dallas for his advancements in student media, where he worked several management positions to support community voices, outreach, and distribution. He holds the historical record for most articles written by a student, covering a variety of topics that include education, crime, sports, and research that has been acclaimed by faculty and awards. During this time, he also served as a national crisis counselor, providing mental health support and suicide intervention to a diverse background of individuals in North America.
Averion is a community builder and a storyteller, focused on improving media communication and relationships with truth, community, and dedication at the forefront of his work.
When not delving straight into work, he can be found hiking trails, trying new cooking recipes, memorized by films, or writing fictional books in horror and fantasy that he one day hopes to publish.
Born in Corona, CA, just neighboring Los Angeles and Anaheim, Averion came Keller, TX, in 2006 when it was still considered small suburbia north of Fort Worth, TX. He graduated from Timbercreek High School and The Keller Center for Advanced Learning in 2020 before graduating with a bachelor's in psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2024.
