As a Community Outreach Coordinator I oversee the planning and implementation of outreach strategies. My primarily responsible is to connect people in the broader community by creating sponsorship agreements and cultivating relationships with businesses, individuals, and other relevant organizations.
My public outreach program does not end with these three events (Telescope Observing, Universe in the Park and State Fair). I take it a step further by offering services (free of charge) to groups who are looking for a more personalized event to suit their particular interests. These groups include schools, churches, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, rotary clubs, senior citizens, etc. The event can consist of a class on a particular subject, telescope viewing, hands-on demonstrations, or anything else that is feasible.
I support the MIfA graduate students during the academic year for a Friday night rooftop observing through the historic telescope in the dome of the John T. Tate Hall. This event is free and open to the public.

I help organize and support the MIFA UITP. This program is held on weekend evenings during the summer months, these events consist of public presentations and night sky viewing (weather permitting) at area state parks.

During the 2020 summer I organize the MIFA State Fair booth. One of the favorite show stoppers in the MIFA fan 'Star on a Stick'. The fan lists future MIFA free events open to the public.
