Interests

You can find below some hobbies and personal interests I have (other than teaching and researching, of course).

I am very interested in music. I like to listen to music all the time, even while I'm working. I learned to play the acoustic guitar when I was 14 by myself and performed on a few rock bands over the years, mainly with my brother Leo (today a terrific musician). I usually played the guitar and my brother, drums. Sadly I cannot seem to find the time to practice anymore, a shame.  But I like very much to mix Engineering and Music, Audio Applications  etc

Cooking is something that I do whenever I have the time (and sometimes also the patience). I like to discover new recipes and try new things. Usually I watch some videos on my Facebook timeline and try to replicate the recipes. Another interesting thing is trying to watch and read the recipe in its original language and adapt the french cuisine, italian cuisine etc, to my reality.

I also like to fix things, specially electronics. Sometimes I also incorporate Dr. Frankstein and reuse and repurpose things.  Home automations, embedded systems, and IoT are my latest interest.  In my undergraduate years I liked programming and tinkering with microcontrollers and embedded systems. That little passion of mine had to give way to my doctorate studies, which were highly theoretical, and was forgotten for some time. Everything returned when I started giving classes of Embedded Systems. Now I like to spend time whenever I can learning and implementing Home Assistant functionalities in my home and trying to find yet another application for ESP32s.

Reading and learning. Playing video-games. I'm a nerd. I like to read everything and learn useless trivia. I am very passionate about History in general.
