Project Title: Adaptive output feedback model predictive control.
Contributions: The proposed framework of adaptive output feedback MPC (AOFMPC) involves (i) an adaptive observer that can provide online simultaneous estimates of the unknown state and parameters, and (ii) a suitably reformulated MPC constrained optimal control problem that uses the observer dynamics for carrying out predictions; the result is a two-tube architecture with guaranteed stability, robustness, and constraint satisfaction on all states and inputs. My contributions were: (i) design of an adaptive observer for discrete-time MIMO LTI systems, (ii) computation of a suitable terminal set that is maximal admissible robust positive invariant to parametric and additive uncertainties, (iii) extending the observer design to handle bounded disturbances, (iv) proposing the AOFMPC framework with guaranteed stability and robustness, (v) designing an initial excitation based adaptive observer for state, parameter and initial state estimation, and (vi) proposing an MPC framework with 'adaptive tubes' (where the tube geometry and MPC components change with learnt parameters and reducing uncertainty).

Project Title: Application of FACTS devices in different power systems.
Responsibilities held in B. Tech Project: The project was done by a group of 6 people, focusing on three FACTS devices, namely- TCSC, SVC and STATCOM. I was responsible for all the simulations and coding, and separately for the works involving TCSC (Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor) which was implemented in Load Frequency Control of a multi-area power system of 13 buses in presence of an integral controller. The goal with TCSC was to maintain the desired active power flow while damping out the oscillations caused by small load disturbances.
