Dr. Sana Jahanshahi Anbuhi is currently an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director (GPD) for the PhD and MASc programs at the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department at Concordia University where she joined in the Summer of 2018. Her primary field of research during her PhD was paper-based biosensors. She earned her PhD in 2015, after which she stayed on at McMaster University and continued her research as a post-doctoral research fellow until 2018 prior to joining Concordia University.
Additionally, Sana served as the Associate Chair of the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department from 2024 to 2025 before starting her role as the Graduate Program Director (GPD) for the PhD and MASc programs in July 2025. She is also the Concordia University Research Chair (CURC), Tier II, on “Stable Bio/Chemo-Sensors” (2021-2026). Dr. Jahanshahi-Anbuhi has been recognized for her contributions to teaching and research, having received the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award- the 25th Annual Gina Cody School Excellence in Teaching by a Junior Faculty Member (2021-2022). She was also nominated for the University President's Excellence in Teaching Award (PETA) for 2022-2023, the Nature Awards for Inspiring Women in Science (May 2022), and the Royal Society of Canada's College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists (November 2023).
