Analytical activity starts once sample received for processing. This section includes sample preparation, instrument calibration, sample analysis, verification of correctness of analysis by chemist, Quality control and raw data submission to reporting section. Each and every steps are important.
Once the sample received for analysis (considering that your lab admin knows that this analysis can be done in your laboratory), use the below steps:
- What is the matrix (accordingly the sample preparation steps to be decided)
- What is the target molecules (accordingly the analytical technology to be decided)
- What is the concentration expecting (accordingly the instrument configuration, calibration range to be decided)
- Do you expect any interference (accordingly the instrument parameter to be selected, some times the instrument configuration may need to alter)
- If there is any regulations on concentration of target molecules (accordingly spiking recovery, multiple analysis to be planned)
