I have to begin by saying that I was disappointed with Fliki.AI's customer service support. Customer service support is vital because it helps to build trust and loyalty between a business and its customers. It provides a means for customers to express their concerns and receive assistance with their issues, which can lead to higher levels of satisfaction and repeat business. I was already loyal to this company, having referred many of my colleagues and spending time showing them how it works, but, this happened...
I reached out to FLIKI.AI explaining that I am an educator and Master's student who already uses Fliki's Basic plan. I explained that I was conducting a review on the software and that I already enjoyed it. I requested a trial for the premium plan so that I could see how voice cloning worked and so that I could be able to try out the video features since I only have audio access. I was disappointed to learn, in a response sent two days later, that they were unwilling to offer me this request. What a missed opportunity for their company! I am already a fan of their software, am already a user, and my OER will be online for others to read including my peers, who are working professionals in various fields connected to educational technology.
In addition, I had also asked a question with their "chat" function" on Wednesday, March 6, 2023 and I received a response on Tuesday, June 6th. A response delay of three months equates to potential lost business. I ended up purchasing a plan regardless, but I could have gone with one of their competitors. It would be impossible to know how many people had reached out with purchasing or functionality questions and who did not receive timely support and answers.
The takeaway here, which was evident when conducting research on Fliki.AI, is that the company is still young . My email responses were from one of the CEO's, Sabir Ahmed, demonstrating that their team consists of two people only. I could be wrong and perhaps the CEO enjoys completing some of the business tasks, though. Being a young and small company also creates concerns about longevity. As mentioned in the SWOT analysis from the Evaluation page, there are competitors in this market! Additionally, I was unable to research company performance analytics as some of my peers whom have chosen bigger and more well-known companies would be able to.
With all of this being said, I must return to information from the Home page in the Rationale section, where I mention the gap in the industry, the need for technologies such as this one, and what it enables language teachers to do. I was a happy subscriber to this tech and I will continue to be. In fact, I plan on presenting with a colleague at an Educational Conference in Bangkok, Thailand about about AI can do for language teachers, with a focus on audio and video creation.
In terms of another connection to my future work, I plan on continuing to explore this topic in educational technology in my upcoming Venture Pitch (Assignment four). Personally, I believe that the usefulness of high quality text to voice in Education is extremely valuable to teachers and language teachers in particular.
Finally, despite my customer service issues raised previously, I do believe that Fliki.AI is a strong company and technology to invest in. Here you can see how Fliki.AI stacks up to some of its major competitors.
