Patricia Monteiro holds a Master on Urban Planing, and since January 2022 she has enrolled the History and Philosophy PhD programme. Her thesis is entitled "Dos Olivais dos Sete Montes ao Oliveira da Serra: A história do cultivo da oliveira e da produção do azeite em Portugal (séculos XVI-XXI)". She holds a PhD's CIUHCT grant.
Pier Luigi Pireddu holds a Master on Philosophy of Science, and since January 2022 he has enrolled the History and Philosophy PhD programme. His thesis is entitled "Ecology, Environment, Ecosystem: The history of these concepts between Mediterrenean Countries and the Anglo-American World". He holds a PhD's CIUHCT grant.
Ignacio García-Pereda holds a PhD on forest engineers, but since January 2020 he is doing another PhD on a family of gardens - The Boutelou - with Professor Francisco Pereda from the University of Badajoz, and I am co-supervisor.
João Puga Alves has been my former student at the post-graduate course on Gardens and Landscapes at FCSH/NOVA and enrolled the PhD programme of History and Philosophy of Science of the Faculty of Sciences in 2015. He is preparing a thesis on the hydraulic systems of early modern monasteries.

Paula Medeiros is a Brazilian landscape architect and her research is focused on the hydraulic system of the Convent of Arrábida. She holds a master grant from AQUA. I am the co-supervisor of her master thesis, together with professor Desidério Baptista, University of the Algarve.

Ava Sindler is a German student who did part of her Master at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at FCUL. Her thesis entitled "Ethnic Representation and Racial Science in Portugal - The anthropology conducted under the Estado Novo and its display during the Exposição do Mundo Português in 1940" was supervised by me and Prof. Dr. Friedrich Steinle, Technische Universität Berlin.

Patricia Monteiro is a Brazilian landscape architect and her research is focused on the intelligent use of water in the Seixal. She had won a master grant from AQUAfrom March 2020 to April 2021. I am the co-supervisor of her master thesis, together with professor José António Tenedório. Her thesis is entitled "O uso inteligente da água no Seixal". This thesis included a GIS-story map and a film on Seixal:

Clara Marques is a Brazilian landscape architect and her research is focused on the impact the Order of Christ had on the development of the first urban settlements of Tomar and how the hydraulic structures built throughout the river Nabão were related to them. I supervised her thesis, together with professor João Leite, entitled "Tomar, Convento de Cristo e a água: Interpretação morfológica e suas inter-relações com as estruturas hidráulicas (séc. XVI-XIX)". She had won a grant of AQUA’s project from May 2020 to February 2021. Following this project, Clara Marques won a Fulbright grant at Johns Hopkins University.

Suryyia Manzoor, assistant professor of the University of Pakistan, has won a Schlumberg Foundation grant and was my post-doctoral fellow between 2017-2018.

Matteo Valleriani, Max Planck Institute. Since 2017 we have been collaborating in several projects and events to discuss water management in gardens, and how this expertise had been developed in southern Europe.
Carmen Toribio, Professor of Landscape Architecture, Spain. Since 2017 we have collaborate in several meetings and we edited together the book on the history of water management in the Iberian Peninsula (Springer, 2020).
Dídia Covas, Full Professor at IST. Since 2015 we have collaborate on the preparation of projects, and Dídia Covas, professor of hydraulic engineer at IST, became the Co-PI of the AQUA project. In this framework, we are working on several topics such as ancient water devices and hydraulic concepts, as well as on ancient hydraulic systems of Tomar and Queluz.
Ana Simões, Full Professor at FCUL. Since 2015 we have collaborated in several articles and books on gardens and horticulture through the lenses of urban history of science.
Anatole Tchikine, Dumbarton Oaks. Since 2012 we have collaborated in several conferences and editions and he is now a member of AQUA project.
Maria João Castro, FCSH/NOVA. Since 2012 we have collaborated on the organisation of two conferences and edited two books, and continue to collaborate in some editions.
Paulo Baptista, National Museum of Theatre. Since 2010 we collaborated on Gardens and Landscape post-graduate course at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences/NOVA, and we continue to collaborate up until current days on Gardens & Landscapes journal.
Aurora Carapinha, University of Évora. Since 2010 we have organised several seminars and workshops on gardens and landscapes and she is currently a member of AQUA.
