For this project my group and I worked with the Children's Center to educate the staff and the parents on sensory modulation through a power point that part of the group presented, and a pamphlet that the other members of the group made for the center to print off. We also provided them with pamphlets on SLCC's OT, PT, and Dental Clinics, so that the parents would know that these resources are available to them.
I really enjoyed working with the Children's Center this semester. For my portion of this project I helped to create a pamphlet on sensory modulation for the center to hand out to their staff and the parents they work with. I was able to work on my effective communication skills, which will I will benefit from when I am working in a professional setting. I was also able to learn more in depth about the clinical application of sensory modulation, and how it can be highly beneficial to provide resources to centers such as the Children's Center.
