Windows 10 is Microsoft's latest released OS. This OS was released 2 years after Windows 8.1 in mid-2015. Windows 10 re-designed the start menu and fixed all the issues Windows 10 had. Windows 10 is the last Windows OS that can run on next to all computers released in the past 15 years. But for Windows 11, it only supported computers released in the last 4 years. When Windows 10 launched, thousands of users made the switch from Windows 8 and even Windows 7 to Windows 10. But Windows 7 was leading in market share until 2018. More users had been using Windows 7 than Windows 10 for 3 years. Many people thought that Windows 10 would be the last version of Windows... but we were very wrong.
To answer this question, we need to talk about a couple of things. You are most likely going to stick with Windows 10 since your computer is probably not going to support Windows 11. One thing we can get out of the way is the loss of the beloved Internet Explorer 11. After 26 years, this is the first Windows operating system to not include or allow IE to be installed. The next thing you can keep in mind is the system requirements. If you are running a 32 bit CPU, then you are out of luck. You also need a UEFI BIOS so no Legacy. You need TPM 2.0 as well as Secure Boot. Even if your computer barely meets the minimum requirements for Windows 11, it will be very slow. In my opinion, you should stick with Windows 10 if you have older hardware. You do have 4 more years until you have to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 since Windows 10 is going out of support. It reaches EOL on October 14th, 2025. It's your choice and decision.
