When An Impostor or Engineer is close to a vent, the vent button becomes usable. If clicked, an animation shows the player jumping into the vent, an action visible to any other players who can see the vent in their vision. The vent opening and closing can be seen even outside of vision on The Skeld and MIRA HQ, but the player who vented cannot be seen. Once in the vents, arrows are displayed, pointing in the directions of connected vents. Hiding in the vents pauses The Impostor's kill cooldown until exited.

Engineers are also able to travel through vents. However, depending on the lobby options, they can only stay in the vent for a limited time and must wait some time for the ability to become available again. This is because it is impossible to be killed while in a vent. Engineers cannot travel through vents while Comms Sabotaged is active.

Impostors and Engineers will be prevented from using or traveling to any vent that is in use by a Crewmate completing Clean Vent, and anyone that is currently in the vent will be forced out of it once a Crewmate begins the task. Engineers with Clean Vent cannot enter the vent they have the task in until they complete the task. If an Engineer or Impostor enters a vent that is connected to a vent a Crewmate is using to complete Clean Vent, the arrow pointing to that vent will be marked with a red X.

In Hide n Seek, there is no cooldown, but Crewmates can only hide in vents a certain number of times. This can be configured in the lobby options from a minimum of 0 to a maximum of 5, with 1 being the default. In comparison to the Engineer's vent ability, the duration of the hide ability is far shorter, thus Crewmates must be quick if they wish to travel to another room.

When I try to play music from my airpods the left airpod works fine but on the right one, sound comes out of the external vent instead of the internal speaker. I've cleaned the mesh of all gunk, completely reset and reconnected the airpods, and even tried the sucking method but sound still won't come from the speaker.

When I drive my 2002 Outback around 70-75 mph, I hear an annoying, buzzing sound that seems to be coming from inside the dashboard near the defroster vents (mostly by driver's side). I have taken my car into the dealership three times, but they can't figure it out. Has anyone else ever heard of this problem?

Maybe its the defroster vent itself. I think the driver side one is 'directable' back-and forth(for better defrosting in front of the driver) and maybe it's loose/broken. Might have to jam a piece of toothpick in it or something.

I had windshield replaced after it cracked. After that, there was a very annoying whining at high speeds that was difficult to locate. The installer resealed the trim around the windshield and that fixed the problem. Try taping around the windshield exterior rubber gasket with adhesive tape and see if it modifies your sound problem. Alternatively, to idagnose the source, try taping off the vent you suspect as it seems from your post to be related to the flow of air.

Brus has the right idea. When we have a problem that *might* me related to the windshield, we will test drive it and piece by piece, place tape over the exterior windshield moldings. Best to use a wide (2") masking tape. Only do 1 section at a time. (drivers A pillar, test drive, then top moldings, test drive, then pass A pillar) What you are doing it trying to redirect the airflow to see if it changes the sound. If it still continues, try removing the wipers one at a time, test driving in between. It is also possible it could be your side mirror. (lexus just came out with a fix for their sound problem from the side mirrors!)

One last thing I can tell you. Sounds that you hear inside your car may sound like they are right in front of you. It is possible that it is not where you think it is! I use a stethoscope (yes, like doctors use) with a long metal tube on the end. This helps me locate the sound more specifically. If you are positive it is the vent, nevermind on that.

Just keep in mind that if you do any of these tests, BE CAREFUL!!!! Especially at the speeds you are talking about!! It is easy to get caught up in trying to test for the problem and forget you are driving a 2,000 lb piece of metal at 70 mph. The sound doesn't mean much after you get wrapped around a tree!!!!! I have had some close calls myself doing this. (at least they were customer cars!!!

One last note. I had a piece of plastic make its way into the blower for the fan under the passenger dash. This made a horrible humming sound but only when the fan was on. As I turned the fan on higher, the louder the sound would get. Just a thought?

Hi there,

Each time I flush my main-floor toilet, I get this noise that sounds like a pipe organ ... or similar to blowing across the top of a Coca-Cola bottle, only 1,0000 times louder.

Situation: I have a 2 1/2 bath house, with a full bath in the main floor bedroom plus a half-bath off the kitchen. There's also a full bath upstairs. The upstairs bath is sited above the main-floor half-bath, and neither toilet in those bathrooms makes this noise ... perhaps because they are on the same vent stack?Anyway, the house is about 30 years old and uses a septic system and well-water. I had the well replaced 30 days ago, but this moaning noise existed before the well digging was done. In fact, the noise occurred several times about 10-12 years ago ... but then went away.

When I flush the toilet on the main floor full bath, it flushes without problems and the water fills the bowl. The noise begins as soon as the water valve in the toilet tank closes. It lasts anywhere from 20 to 60 seconds, a moaning noise that varies in its octaves. It was alarming at first but now I'm getting accustomed to it. BTW, I notice it doesn't make this noise when I use the toilet for the first time in the morning ... but successes flushes makes the noise increase in duration.

From what I've read, I'm guessing I may have a clogged vent pipe ... or there's something in there (leaves?) that vibrate when the venting air passes upward. But before I climb out on the roof in winter, I'd like to see if I'm on the right track or if you pros have better ideas and suggestions!

Thanks!

This might sound kind of silly but have you considered replacing the fill valve in the toilet, some are known to moan...

This slow drip will waste 7+ gallons of water per day.

Once again, the poor old vent pipe gets the blame But as usual, she's in the clear

I would lean more to a bad fill valve in the toilet. Next time, remove the lid and pull up on the float when it happens. Venting would have nothing to do with when the fill valve turned off. I guess the only reason for not installing vents would be so people would quit blaming vents for every plumbing problem.

Edited 1 times.

No.But ,blame it as they would the atmospheric vent.Yes.Good Luck.I will make a motion,To have the valve type renamed in two years,in Florida.I will seek to have it called a trap vacuum relief intake vent.Since the code is not applying the correct use ,I will wish to restate the intended use.As protection against negative pressure /only\ on a fixture trap.

We recently installed an island range hood with rigid ducting venting through roof. The problem is, when it rains, the sound transmits through the ducting down to the range hood. This is very loud and sounds like rain on a tin roof right above my head. Is there a way to alleviate this problem? Some kind of insulator or cover that can be added to the roof vent perhaps?

Sounds. I have to agree there can be an appreciation for natural sounds. Recently here we had a frozen high river, warm up, rain, ice breaking up flowing then backing up below an interstate bridge......interesting sounds every night as the various transitions came and went.

Yeah, we recently moved from our suburban home of 43 years into a condo. I do miss the sounds of the old place, as it gave the house a heatbeat -- furnace, condensate pump, humidifier, water softener, all playing their notes of the symphony in turn. The new place is kind of creepy, since it sounds like there are ghosts in the attic.

Hey, did you get this figured out? We just installed a range hood and ran the ducting effectively vertical out through the roof. During heavy rain you can hair the echo of the rattling from the rain on the vent cap. Been trying a ton of things but to no avail yet. Would love to know if and how you got this solved?
