This is a public information for the course EEE411 Communication Theory delivered in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Royal Military College of Canada. Enrolled students should consult the course website hosted on Moodle.
Course Objective
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Understand the fundamentals of analog and digital communication systems, including key concepts such as modulation, demodulation, and signal representation.
Apply mathematical tools such as Fourier transforms, probability, and random processes to analyze communication signals and systems.
Identify the main analog and digital modulation techniques, understand how do they operate, and contrast their characteristics in terms of bandwidth, power efficiency, and robustness.
Evaluate system performance under various noise and channel conditions, with emphasis on signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and error probabilities.
