About FMMG

We are a research group working at the interface of chemistry, materials science, and molecular electronics, focusing on the design and synthesis of functional molecular materials with tailored optical and electronic properties. Our research seeks to understand and control molecular-scale phenomena to develop innovative materials for applications in molecular electronics, sensing, photonics, energy conversion, and advanced functional devices. Through a combination of synthetic chemistry, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and device studies, we aim to uncover fundamental structure-property relationships and translate molecular design into technological function.

News & Events

Ongoing: We are seeking enthusiastic PhD students and Postdoctoral Researchers to join our team. Interested candidates are welcome to get in touch.
Ongoing: We welcome opportunities for academic and industrial collaborations in functional molecular materials, molecular electronics, and optoelectronics.
September 2026: Two papers from Amit’s research were accepted for publication in Nano Letters, with another paper accepted in Small.
July 2026: The Functional Molecular Materials Group was established at Bose Institute. Our group begins its research journey at Bose Institute, Kolkata.
July 2026: Amit joined the Department of Chemical Sciences, Bose Institute, as an Assistant Professor.
