This is a company research project conducted during National Taiwan University's Plus Academy 6 week Research and Culture program for UCEAP's Study Aboard Research in Taipei Program.
Assigned by Professor Chiou-Shann Fuh to improve the reconstruction results of his conference research paper on Reconstruction of 3D Solid Ball by X-Ray Image by Professor Chiou-Shann Fuh and Yu-Yan Li
Managed to generate improved image quality from sinogram project data using the Python Sci-kit Image Library for implementing Simultaneous Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (SART)
Tomography is imaging using waves such as x-rays by using sections or sectioning. It is a form of remote sensing which can be used for interdisciplinary applications such as radiology and environmental monitoring.
Computed Tomography is a medical imaging technique which is used to obtain detailed information about the body. Common applications are for preventative medicine and screening through diseases such as brain scans and lungs scans.
Images taken using Computed Tomography can be used for Precision Medicine to use as data to develop data-driven medicine rather than guess-based medicine through training machine learning models with the data. This is where the data is sourced from.
