Affordable Materials Grants
Kick-Off Training
Congratulations, Round 26 Grantees!
This asynchronous training will walk you through some of the essential material you will need to complete your grant project successfully. If at any point you have questions, feel free to either email us directly at the contact info on last page or make a note to ask it at the live meeting on Friday, January 3. Don't forget: we meet on Friday, January 3 from 1-3pm and at least two people from each team (except single-person teams; you just need to attend yourself) must attend live unless you've acquired an exemption. All team members, including those who do not attend the live session, must complete this asynchronous training. It should take you no more than two hours.
If you completed this asynchronous training and received a certificate in the past year, you do not have to complete it again. If you completed it before, and it has been longer than a year, please complete it as a refresher.
By the end of this asynchronous kick-off training, you will be able to:
Get in touch with other members of your grantee cohort.
Explain the purpose of Affordable Learning Georgia and its programs.
Explain how Creative Commons licensing works and apply it to your open materials.
Define "open educational resources" and find them.
Explain why accessibility matters and apply it to your materials.
Host your materials openly outside the learning management system.
Decide whether open pedagogy is the next step for your OER journey.
First Things First: Get to Know Your Cohort!
Introduce yourself in the Padlet below. Tell us your name, institution, and a little bit about your project! Include your email address so that fellow grantees can get in touch to collaborate, and browse grantees from the last few rounds!
