Class descriptions
Dressage Seat Equitation: evaluates the rider’s position, seat and specifically the correct and effective use of the aids required by USDF Introductory tests. Movements from those tests may be requested and judged.
Riders must be able to walk, trot (canter) & halt in a group class.
English Showmanship: open to all competitors age 12 and younger. Evaluates the exhibitor's ability to execute in-hand, in concert with a well groomed and conditioned horse/ pony/mule, a set of maneuvers prescribed by the judge with precision and smoothness while exhibiting poise and confidence.
Exhibitors must be able to lead the horse at a walk, trot, and back; stop; and turn 90 (one-quarter), or 180 (onehalf) degrees.
Leadline classes: open to all competitors age 7 and younger.
Rules
Entry Fees
$10 per test & Equitation Classes
$5 leadline tests & Showmanship class
$15 school horse rental (if not leasing/owning)
No refunds after the closing date.
Riders may enter a maximum of 2 classes under saddle including Equitation classes.
No cross-entry between Walk/Trot Equitation and Intro C.
Ratings: Riders must have passed their Silver Galop (Shetlands) or Galop 1 to show in mounted classes (except leadline).
Attire
HELMETS: All competitors (including leadline leaders) must wear properly secured ASTM/SEI helmets.
MASKS: If still recommended by the CDC - all unmounted participants/spectators (and leadline riders) will be required to wear a mask.
ATTIRE: Formal show attire and braiding are not required. However, care should be given to presenting a neat appearance to the judge.
Required:
Riding breeches/jodhpurs - preferably tan/sand/light gray/khaki
Belt must be worn when riding pants have belt loops
Jodhpur/paddock boots (brown/black) or tall boots
A plain shirt of any color, with collar and sleeves (i.e. polo shirts, button down shirts, equestrian “sun shirts”) - if purchasing specifically for this, we recommend a navy blue or light blue polo shirt (AMF Equitation colors)
Hair neat and contained (hairnet, bun, or braid - no pony-tails for shows)

Half-chaps (brown or black)
Gloves
Neither AMF Equitation, LLC nor the show committee
