Professional Career

From a very young age, they have always been passionate in creativity and storytelling, especially in movies and shows, with visual storytelling, compelling stories, and even fun characters. Their first experience with acting was in a Drama Kids performance at their school when they were 10 years old.

Though there was a 7-year hiatus in their acting, that didn't stop them from practicing their videography skills. in 2014, they started experimenting with video editing in iMovie. Over a year later, in August 2015, they started posting to YouTube, where they created their own vlogs. During the course of high school, they made a lot of great friends who participated in their vlogs and fun adventures, and even took classes about web design, graphic design, and video editing. In senior year, they even participated in their high school's broadcast team, where they worked both behind and in front of the camera to deliver the latest school news.

It was in 2018, when their acting career kind of made a comeback. They starred in a couple of student produced short films and commercials, some of which they created themselves.

They graduated high school in 2019, and later attended Columbus State University, where they would then study filmmaking for the next four years. Around the time they entered college is when they founded Amethyst Studios. Even if it was just a mere concept, this idea of student filmmaking shaped the company as we know it today. This is when they came up with fun and bright ideas for potential films through self-taught screenwriting. They even took classes hosted by the Georgia Film Academy, a joint school where college students could attend classes that teach real life industry skills in professional studios.

Even with a bright future ahead, the one thing that got in their way was the COVID-19 pandemic, which prevented many people, especially young college students, from going outside to film the potential projects they wanted to make. Even with a deadly virus in the world, that didn't stop Kan from their hard work, creativity, and bright future ahead. They created many scripts during the pandemic, some which they hope one day to make into movies.

The later years became a little better, though. In 2021 and later, they started taking classes on Video Production, video editing, and even screenwriting, where they learned much better skills and even created a commercial. Meanwhile, they were even making scripts, shooting several scenes, and wrote entire plot lines and stories on their cancelled show Goffik Gurlz, which eventually turned into Amethyst Studios' first feature film, The Infamous Fallout of Tara and Raven. They even starred in the short film, It's All In the Can, for the 48 Hour Film Festival in 2022, hosted by "The Society" Film Club, at CSU. In May 2023, they graduated from CSU with a Bachelors of Arts in Film Production.

In the summer of 2023, their interest in acting started to grow again, when they joined CastingCallClub, an organization for rising voice actors, and even got into voice acting and participated in a fan dub. Their first official voice acting role was in Mae Spencer's memoir VR Bodies, a mesmerizing tale about a young trans girl's journey.

In the Fall of 2023, they became a part of the University of Georgia' EMST Group Chat at the Grady College of Journalism, and despite not being a student, they took part in multiple film productions, as both a cast and crew member for Wingmen and IntervYOU. Through this process, they met new people at film premieres, especially other cast and crew members at UGA. It was through this process where Kan decided to dedicate Amethyst Studios to giving recognition to new and upcoming actors.

Kan is currently working on more short films and shows, has joined several local film productions, and is hoping for a bright future in the industry, going forward!
