After running a successful film distribution company in Canada, he became a Producer of family films at his Melenny Productions in 1993. The films sold across the world including the Disney Channel in the US.

In 1997, he produced “The Boys” based on his original story. It was the first in a franchise of five features that have all reached number one at the box office, breaking all records and making history in Canadian cinema. Three of the films have won the Golden Reel at the Genies Awards of the Canadian Academy. Between 2007 and 2012, “The Boys” became one of the most popular television series during it’s five seasons. In 2013, he wrote and directed the fifth feature in the franchise “Once upon the Boys”, which was once again a hit at the box office.

In 2004, he produced the most ambitious film project in Quebec’s film history, with the $40 million budget and award winning “Nouvelle France”, a co-production with UK and France. A historical drama with an international cast of Gérard Dépardieu, Tim Roth, Colm Meaney, Vincent Perez and Irene Jacob, shot in both English and French. After co-productions “Sticky Fingers” and “Territories” he produced “Elephant Song” adapted from Nicolas Billon’s stage play and adapted by the writer. The film won best screenplay at the Canadian Awards and at the Writers Guild of Canada and best director at the Directors Guild of Canada.

In 2018 he produced the first season of the ratings success ten part drama series “Tomorrows Men”, and is in development for a second season. He is a founder member of the Independent Producers Group of Quebec, that unites the eight leading production companies there.
